Looking forward to reading at Cultivating Voices this weekend with a wit of fabulous poets 🤩 (it’s one of my favourite word games to think of collective nouns for a group of poets)

It has been wonderful to see this image of Seamus Heaney in his study circulating ahead of the launch of his new collection.

The books seen here are some of the many which will be housed in our new Seamus Heaney Poetry Library at No. 11 Parnell Square.

We can’t wait to share them with you all.📖

Jeff Bezos might have built a spaceship, but indie bookstores build and nurture whole communities and that is *way* more impressive and valuable.

I guess it's Prime Day(s) again, so here are some options if you'd rather not help Jeff Bezos grow even richer. 🧵

First, a couple of Starter Packs of Indie Bookstores to support. (If you are or know of an indie bookstore w/ a Bluesky account that's not listed, let me know.)

Damn. This is amazing. £325 per week, paid monthly, for 3 years - and the result was a profit for the Irish economy:
www.citizensinformation.ie/en/employmen...
Post from Threads user rodneyowl: "Ireland has declared the Basic Income for Artists scheme permanent. This will be officially announced in tomorrow’s budget. Details to follow. Congratulations to all who fought for it and the present and future artists of all sorts in Ireland. That includes me 👌We’re just comin to the end of a 3 year pilot scheme. It’s been a roaring success. For every €1 paid out to the 2000 participants, the government got €1.46 back. Can’t argue with that. Other countries are already taking note."
