Today I'll be using Eucalyptus from Captain's Choice. I just felt like using this again, and it was a wonderful shave with plenty of Eucalyptus, but it does tend to remind me of Vicks VapoRub, but in a good way. The soap held up after many years dormant and snapped right back into action after being placed in the shaving bowl. A little warm water and my favorite brush produced an amazing amount of lather. This lather got right onto the beard, and the feeling of this Eucalyptus has to be experienced. I was able to use my Occam's Razor without fear of irritation. The slickness and glide are all good, and the post-shave feel spectacular. I did, however, use Wet The Face aftershave, Mr. Warlock. I think nothing beats it. FAQ - Hey! Today I'm using The Quiet Man shaving soap, the tallow version. It's been getting a lot of buzz lately; in fact, all the tallow soaps we sell are selling more than ever before. We use a tallow source here on Long Island. When our batch is ready, they call, and we pick it up, not too far away from us, which saves us on shipping costs. When I'm creating tallow soaps, the tell is in the melted oils. It has a kind of shimmer to it that no other oil provides. You can almost see how slick this is going to be. I personally feel our vegan soaps are just as slick as our tallow versions, but I need to give customers what they want, which is why we created the tallow line. Today I picked Palmolive Shaving stick because I need to get my shave on fast. No bowl lather, just wet the face, applied the stick to my face, then wet the brush and did a face lather. In seconds, I had an amazing amount of lather, and it just kept growing. Wonderful stuff, this stick. So glad I am able to try this amazing (discontinued, not sure) product with the help of a subscriber who sent it to me. The lather was thick and creamy and got right into the beard. I was able to use my single-edge Occam's Razor without any nicks or cuts; the Post-shave feel was fantastic. All in all, it was a wonderful shave with no issues, and that's what we like to see. When I started my Wet Shaving journey many years ago, I came upon a company called Soap Commander. I had no idea what I was looking for, but I knew I wanted to try it. I wanted to shave like my dad used to do with a DE razor. So I ordered a sample package from Soap Commander and an R89Grande DE razor and blade sample package from Amazon. The soap came to me first, and I remember being very excited to show my friend Tom, whom I had called into my office to show him all the stuff. I gave him a few samples to try. This was the beginning, and now, many years later, I have started my own company, Wet The Face, and have my own line of products. Needless to say, I had forgotten about my first shaving soaps, so I'm here showing some respect. Respect is a delightful combination of lime and patchouli, which I bloomed for approximately two to five minutes, due to its slightly drying out over the years. The loading of the brush was easy, and the lather this soap produced was amazing. It got right into the beard and provided great coverage. Today I'm using Saponificio Varesino 1945 right from its storage holder. I first bloomed the puck for over 3-5 minutes, which allowed me to load more soap on the brush. Once this was done, I lathered it into a rich creamy lather right into the beard. Amazing feel from this lather. The scent is one I like, but the strength could be a bit more pronounced. Needless to say, the shave was wonderful, the soap allowed me to go over trouble spots without the fear of irritation, and the post-shave feel was brilliant. I would recommend any of these soaps, but for me, one is all I need becuase I'm not sure each release is that different than the previous ones. They all seem to have the same scent to me. Today, we release our holiday offerings. Santa's Chocolate Factory & Santa's Helper. We are going to be using Santa's Chocolate Factory - Thin Mints. Like the label says, it's a chocolate thin mint scent bursting with the aroma of a freshly opened box. I placed some in our Wet The Face Shaving Bowl, and the lather I created was amazing. Thick, rich, and creamy. It got right into the beard and provided the perfect coverage. The slickness and glide were high on the charts, allowing for an irritation-free shave. Today I'm using one of my own shaving soaps called Vanilla Tobacco. This one is from our tallow line, which I started a few years ago. So far, they have been a big hit, and people seem to like them. I did my usual bowl lather without issues, and the lather was thick and creamy. This allowed for great coverage and got right into the beard. Yes, it was a Dark Matter Day. It started last Friday when I was making a call to a customer, then I heard an explosion outside the house. A second later, all the power went out in the neighborhood. The power outage lasted from 6:30PM to 10:30PM. When the power finally went on, I was certainly relieved, and I needed to start the day early, so I went to sleep. When I got up the next morning, went into the kitchen, and opened the refrigerator, it was very warm. All the food had spoiled and needed to be thrown out. I called a Tech to come down to have a look, and he told me it would cost the same amount to buy a new one if he had to fix so off to Best Buy I went. I did some comparisons online, looked at YouTube videos, and all of them, including the salesperson at Best Buy, said to me DON'T BUY SAMSUNG, so I didn't. They also warned me about LG. They have a class action suit regarding the compressors, so I avoided them as well, but to be honest, I had an LG, which lasted 13 years. The models I wanted to purchase, not one of them, were in stock; in fact, they had arrival dates of December 19. I was told that supply chain issues still affect Best Buy. So this is what I did: I handed the dimensions of the old unit to the salesperson, and we looked at what was available and the features I wanted. Nothing came close, but all the videos said avoid gimmicks and gadgets, get practical, and that's what I did. I went with a Wirlpool. The only special thing it had was two ice makers, one in the door and one in the freezer. The cost me total $2089.00 When it was installed, the guy who came had two helpers. One of the helpers knocked over two bottles of wine in a rack; needless to say, it went everywhere. That wasn't even the worst thing. The refrigerator was just 1/8 of an inch too tall and could not fit under the kitchen cabinets. The installer said, "Oh, that's an easy thing to fix," and then left. So I'm still trying to get someone to help with this, and until then, it's sticking out of the space. One of the best things I did was take out this policy with Best Buy that I can return anything I buy after 60 days which, if this is not resolved, I intend to do just that. FAQ - Hey!
