2026, January 13 and 14. New Zealand, east coast North Island, Hawke Bay, in Napier. Two Gray's Beaked whales stranded and died. One whale washed up on Tuesday in Whirinaki, in Westshore, and another was found dead on Wednesday, Nelson Quay, Perfume Point.

In the USA, Florida, Fort Walton Beach. A beaked whale was found dead.

Seven dolphins die in Ireland after a mass stranding.
2025, December 21-22. Ballyvaughan. 27 common dolphins on Sunday. The dolphins were in good body condition, suggesting they were healthy before the event.

2025, December 23. India, Kalupur Ganga under Suhwal police station area under Zamania area of Ghazipur district. Gangetic Dolphin was found dead on the banks. It weighs about 150 kg, is about five feet long and is estimated to be about five years old.

A 20-million-year-old whale fossil has been unearthed by a family exploring at Australian beach. Palaeontologists will soon be able to analyse the remains of the "really rare find" at Ocean Grove on the state's Bellarine Peninsula.
