For context, aecurtis (Allen Curtis) was involved in educating US Army OPFOR about the Soviet (and later) threat(s) from about 1980 through 2002 or so. He passed away in 2014, sadly.

it's under CACDA in '82 though, but god bless it is hard to find direct product (at least on DTIC and ISCARL and any journal archive)

CAC Threats seems to have been CoC fluid, because nobody seems to know if it's under Combined Arms Combat Development Authority (CACDA) or Combined Arms Center (which I'm pretty sure is CACDA's parent org) It doesn't exist here in 1978, or isn't enumerated

Trying to figure out who was working at CAC-Threats on FM 100-2 (1984) between 1978 and 84 and I got flashbanged by this guy

It's up there with the quebec license plate. "I remember"? Remember what? Getting your asses handed to you on the Plains of Abraham?

Not quite as big a meme as the "Advanced F-106 / Mass Raid Weapon" AKA Sky Scorcher, a 2 megaton 125nmi / 230km range shitpost of an AAM.

I think it would be very funny to put this on AIM-174. Just yeetus deletus an entire chi-com bomber regiment.

I appreciate the creativity but bottom mines need significantly larger warheads than a small diameter bomb. Just throw them off boats.

For land mines you don't need a drone, you either do FASCAM or plough them.

I have heard it called the poop chute by professional people. It was mostly used as a spare fuel tank. It could buddy fuel out of that too. Though it did occasionally get hot and squirty out the back on a cat shot. Fine for the jet, usually. I've also heard it called the 'linear bomb bay'

NAA Columbus had some enlightened ideas in the 50s. Including some VG studies, the WS300A long range interceptor, XF-108 (the mach 3 superfighter) and a lenticular bomber (i.e. a nuclear armed flying saucer)

F-111's internal bay was a very weird size. I would need to look through the SOR.183 information I have but it was basically tapped out at two SRAM. There were at least two major stretch proposals, FB-111B/C and FB-111H

NTC and BATUS are both only ~1000sqmi. This used to be the purview of REFORGER FTX, to an extent, but a larger training area would be useful. Has anyone checked if there's a 50 x 50 mile box of somewhere we could rent out? What's going on in Franklin and St Lawrence Cty, NYS?

As much as I love the US campaign streamer tradition, the british tendency to put them on flags is pretty incredible too.

In light of the 28 points of idiocy, I want to remind everyone that the US never recognized the illegal Soviet occupation and annexation of the Baltic states.

Apparently Romania was offering new production AA-2 Atoll (K-3, i.e. AIM-9B) air to air missiles in 1989, which is only like 25 years after it left US production. Fascinating.

In light of the GA-ASI Gambit video which really makes a much more sane argument for CCA than most, I just want to remind everyone that there is nothing new under the sun, and the USAF was experimenting with CCA in Vietnam.
