My understanding was that MIA was clearing cap space for a run at the 2027 FA class. I suppose trading Wiggins/SlowMo might shift that to 2026 but its not nearly the same level of talent available.
If they do indeed trade for KD, I'll be interested to see what they then do with Herro in 2026.

Luka was vomiting less than a day ago. The coach then played him 46 minutes, including the entire 2nd half, and didn't make any adjustments to the full court pressure meant to tire Luka even more.
But sure, continue to spiral and scapegoat.

Also CRUCIALLY the fake idea of “left-wing censorship” was still in service of PROTECTING people, being ACCURATE, and making the world a better place, while the actual real threat of right-wing censorship is about eliminating undesirables from public life, stripping rights, and causing literal death

When I first saw Shake had two more years after this I was annoyed we'd have a similar offseason where Bronny and multiple minimums would prevent us from good signings. BUT, he's not guaranteed for his next two years so yeah, I'm with you on Goodwin.

You make this trade every time on the Lakers end but man, it’s not just the mourning. It’s the guilt. AD doesn’t deserve this after everything he’s given and done for the Lakers.

Yeah, I remember the same thing in my neighborhood back during the Thomas Fire. Not only do they want to prevent looting but there are a lot of toxic chemicals around that need to be cleaned up.

It reminds me of the Thomas fire and how each of us carried the collective weight and stress of a community. Make sure to stay hydrated and drink 3 times the water you normally do. You have no idea how much air quality and dehydration compound the lack of sleep.

The pipe dream would be as a buyout candidate but I'm unsure of the new cba buyout rules. Even then, it would still require a roster spot that would require a trade.

I agree with you that Vuc doesn't plug all the holes. My only other argument would be through the lens of assets. Bulls seem desperate to shed salary and might be willing to swap without LAL giving up 1sts. LAL being able to go after someone with athleticism on the wing is more the priority for me.

They just need a sixth man/barely starter so that AD can rest. Olympics over the summer, plantar fasciitis, and the burden of the team record if he rests. It's ridiculous what the Lakers put him through time and time again. Vuc could potentially be played with AD but Reddick seems anti two big.

It's every industry. Ever since the Toyota factory concept of "lean-thinking" was bastardized and corrupted to serve short term profits at the expense of the labor force. Now, its no longer even about finding the sweet spot of efficiency; they will cut at the expense of quality.

One of my worries with both McMillan and Brooks was that there were reports of their inflexibility in their scheme and that both were tuned out by multiple locker rooms. Brooks voice "went stale" to Durant an Westbrook while McMillan reportedly butted heads in Portland and lost respect in Atlanta.

Just poor overall asset management. They let Caruso walk out the door while signing non rotation players (THT, Christie, Rui) to poor contracts based off of "potential." Dlo's value has dropped every year. They valued Westbrook as a star AFTER Lebron exposed him in a playoff game.

I agree and imagine that privately, both Lebron and Davis have questioned Pelinka's competency and the Lakers' cheap spending since 2021. But you dance with the one who brought you and they got at least one championship out of it, so they didn't completely squander Lebron's storybook ending in LA

The same reason they got Lebron and Davis to the Lakers is the same reason they won't break up that duo. Lakers haven't built much the last decade, but they did make the Lakers synonymous for loyalty to their stars. Can't go back on that when it gets tough.

Lavine and vuc are $60m. Lakers can't cough up financially in assets to match and even if they could, they'd be so far into the 2nd apron the trade wouldn't work according to cba rules

Plantar fasciitis can be played through but is painful as hell and the pressure for AD to play has to be enormous with the current roster and its center depth. I'd much rather the Lakers go all in on another big with the picks and go vogel style aggressive perimeter players with two bigs waiting.

Reading is an active skill while listening is a passive skill and one does not get the same cognitive engagement from listening. Inclusivity isn't the point. Walking would be better for someone disabled and physically in a wheelchair but we don't call it walking when they wheel themselves.
