the joke is so immensely layered. that it's integral to the plot so that it must be included, the dichotomy between reactions, matt's mugging face, the timing of delivery. plus the unknowable circumstances of how that scene was set up in real life and subsequent edit are also just exquisite.

also i'm sorry about being intolerably insistent on a movie like this but i literally never let myself splurge on hyperfixations so i'm cashing all in

i am about to lose a lot of respect for people that go see scream 7 in a few weeks but don't bother seeing this movie

anyways the movie was fantastic and i can't stop thinking about it. it reinvigorated my love for ntbts. everyone should go watch this movie and it's preemptively making me upset that more people haven't yet watched it.

even as an artist, a good first impression of your own work matters. the box its put into is then used to reinforce itself during the process of creation, "taking on its own life" as it were. allows you to make informed decisions about what works/doesn't.
