And this type of shit is gonna get us in trouble. Who would you say this to IRL?

Simon Repp, creator of faircamp, linked my site to the faircamp landing page.

If I could thank him directly, I would.

The first row of the public library has been filled out.

It has been pretty cool to see how this has been received by others so far. It gives me hope that continuing to build onto the library will yield general positivity. The feedback I get from others is enough to keep me wired-in.

However, if you decide to include lossless formats of your music, the size of your site jumps greatly.

( See the file sizes in the picture )
For only two songs, 3.5 min of music, the site has to package 120.2 MB of data.

8. User account system

This is where users can create an account on whereditgo.diamonds and submit the link to their self hosted faircamp instance to be included on the Nexus Public Library

See Terms of Service for more details (docs.whereditgo.diamonds/terms-of-ser...)

7. Catalog History

As previously described. Newer publications on the orbital display system proved infeasible after a certain time. The original orbital display system has now been limited to 9 elements. As publications expire, they will be archived here

5. Public Library Documentation

A full documentation site that explains how to onboard onto the public library. The tutorial explains hosting solutions using non-enterprise cloud vendors (non AWS, GCP, Azure) at bare-bones price points. A knowledge base to promote awareness and tech sovereignty

4. Nexus Public Library

The core innovation. The public library is a BYOT (bring your own technology) record label concept. Open source and public (at the discretion of site admin) Any user can register with WHEREDITGO and add their faircamp library to this collection.

3. ORBIT community webring

Following the outer space theme, "ORBIT" is a community webring that features a bunch of folks I have come across during my time as incognitothief.

Inspired by Rhode Island renegade Web0 collectives, this is my own cultural contribution.

2. Library

Inspired by this thread (bsky.app/profile/daed...) I was introduced to "Faircamp" A solution for self hosted music libraries.

I began digging and came up with a plan try and hack this tech to its full potential. ( More on this later )

This page is my personal faircamp library

1. Nexus

The original design of the website did not allow for scaling past a certain volume of content. ( If you recall the orbit structures ) Content, as it was published, was periodically pushed to the outer layers. The more content was published, the longer this page took to load.

## Streaming page update

It used to look like crap before. Currently I support 4 platforms but will maybe reduce/alter this as new platforms are explored. I have yet to decide what outlets will be leveraged in the future. (Will share thoughts on this at some point in the future)

## New Item Emphasis

New publications are given visual ornamentation to draw user focus. Paired with reduced landing page content, makes it easier to appeal to/onboard new users
