I’m still working on my little sketch ideas. Here’s the latest canvas board version that’s still in progress.

Here are some details from a larger acrylic painting of daisies #whistpr #ArtYear #Daisies

Obviously I seem to shy away from the Internet, but I’m still here, and I’ve just started using my sketchbook ideas for new projects. This is an ink drawing/painting on 10x10cm canvas board. It’s inspired by my favourite walk from Dunwich to Walberswick in Suffolk. #BlueSkyArt #InkDrawing #Miniature

We walked by the pine woods in Wells-Next-The-Sea and Holkham yesterday in North Norfolk. Here’s a little Procreate sketch to mark the day! #ProcreateArtist #digitalsketch #NoAI #Springtime #NorthNorfolkCoastalPath #HolkhamEstate

Here’s a little acrylic sketch I made last summer. It’s on a blank beer mat and as I have hundreds more of these beer mats, maybe I should do more! This is a beach scene using reference from photos I took on Naxos. #BlueSkyMonday #artist #acrylicpainting #seascape #Greece #Naxos

Here’s one I finished earlier! It took a wildly different journey than I’d anticipated and I love it. It’s giving me a 1960s circus forest vibe 🤣 #horrorcircus #stripes #thehousethatjackbuilt #studiopen #sketchbook #workinprogress #blueskyart

Seems that I’ve swerved the Internet for a bit! I’m still working on my tree sketches which will one day end up as reference for future projects. On this arty Friday, I wanted to share them midway through. I love the simplicity of the lines! #art #fridayinspiration #blueskyart #woodland #creator

Here’s another finished page of my treescapes. Each drawing seems to push my technique. So obviously I’m looking forward to the next one! #art #illustration #sketchbook #artist #wip #penandink #woodland #britishcountryside #springequinox

I’m definitely leaning into my fascination of trees! Here’s my latest 7x7cm ink square sketch. This is a reworked idea from a much larger pen and ink drawing I did a couple of years ago. It’s good to feel the energy again, just like I felt in the first drawing. #art #blueskyartist #inkdrawing

Another inky square added… time to move on to the next one and turn the page. This image is inspired by a winter walk from Walberswick to Blythburgh in Suffolk. #Blueskyart #sketchbook #artist #Walberswick #Blythburgh

I thought I’d join in for #BlueSkyMonday with a 10x10cm acrylic painting of a small church in Naxos, Greece. Happy Monday! #artistsofbluesky #Art

Todays ink sketch of dark waters got a bit smudged as I went with the flow (pun intended) and turned the page round as I inked

I’ve been thinking about my daffodils paintings for a while. They’ve been on pause/for sale and on pause again as I can’t work out if they are finished or not.

Blimey, I hadn’t realised that I’d not posted here in so long. Here’s an update on my ink drawings… yes, you’ll have seen half of it before. As I go along, it kind of makes me want to add text or turn them into a story.

Just a couple more sketchbook ideas. I’ve realised I get bored of bleak midwinter but I love the dark images it inspires me to do.

It’s Friday! Which means that everyone trying to make art is acutely aware of how much they didn’t make this week, just because of … whatever! I’ll be drawing in my sketchbook this afternoon to create my future inspiration but in the meantime here’s a Procreate sketch of mine of surface water.

Sometimes paintings don’t go exactly the way I plan them in my head, but I’ve found a 3inch square of an older acrylic painting that I’d previously ‘parked’ and now it has me wanting to use it as inspiration for a new painting… #artonbluesky #iris #purple #painting

I’ve been reimagining some earlier works using my Tom’s Studio Lumos pen. Looking for inspiration and a calm headspace by concentrating on line work. Each square is about 65mm sq. as I’ve used the Apple Pencil nibs box as a guide ✍️ #sketchbook #beach #artistsonbluesky #suffolk #dunwich #forestry

Instead of charcoal, I cracked out my lovely ‘Tom’s Studio’ Lumos ink pen. I think this may be my favourite ink pen ever! Oh, and the image is the same subject as before, with a different approach. Art is hard, confusing, expensive and worthwhile! #tomsstudio #lumos #penandink #drawing #artonbluesky

Change of plan. I was going to spend the whole day trying to draw water in #Procreate on my iPad in the warm house. Now, I am going to draw water on paper with charcoal in my freezing studio instead. It will be fun, but I’m really annoyed that I’ve literally drawn the nib off my Apple Pencil.

So, on the theme of moody, dark and ominous, and in keeping with that ‘January’ feeling, here’s an older image based on #Blackwater in #Southwold & #Walberswick #norfolk #suffolk #inkillustration #january2025 #darkandgloomy #horror #Procreate

Happy New Year! Once again, January feels a little too long and dark so far… inspiration is inspiration I guess! Here’s a #WIP sketch I did today #procreate #Norfolk #NoAI #artistwork #january2025 #sepiatones
