Random thought: I assume the word terraform came about meaning to form into Earth. So why in science fiction when an alien group is turning Earth into an alien planet isn’t it called xenoforming? Or exoforming?

When I was 18 I went overseas with my French teacher & I remember being stunned that in Rome there were soldiers with rifles on every corner. It was so at odds with the beautiful city but was told they had high crime. Still found it weird. Yet here we are doing the same thing in our capital city.
