I am for trans people, migrants, minorities, women, atheists, the poor, the uneducated. Anyone suffering under bigotries denying them equality under the law and the freedom to flourish as they see fit without hurting others while getting support deserved
The NYTimes had a tight and friendly relationship with a known pedophile while ignoring further information about someone aiming for the Presidency and then holding it.

That pretty much sums up the cover up for insiders culture of the NYTimes.

Not truthful or trustworthy.

Women spent hundreds of years trying not to be defined only as societally acceptable feminine. I don't know why there is the fascination of fragile men from the far right to liberal center to reduce men to a limited view of masculinity.

It is all just so naive, so simplistic, so useless. So inhuman

Kaine is such a POS. This isn't naivety. He knows it has no chance, and that he planned it that way. For Tim Kaine anything that isn't for the Donor class and their corporations is just posturing. He isn't that stupid. He just thinks us all rubes.

The oligarchs thrive on diet hate. They are getting exactly what they voted for.

If we let Republicans define our every move we don't move forward. Flailing defense is not the answer, muscular offense is.

I'd prefer creating a country where people are equal under the law and can get equitable help from the government. Building a country that best gives most people a chance to flourish without oppression.

Democrats need to be a party of, by, and for the people. A People's Party. Not rich donors.

Creepy how true this was for me.
November 15, 2025 at 7:24 PM
Totally.
Use "journalist" to define what it should aspire to, not what currently is.
My default for those in that industry is propagandist because of their lack of good faith to facts and analysis for the benefit of the reader instead of third parties (oligarchs and fascists most often).
November 15, 2025 at 7:23 PM
Thoughtful. And overall good.
I do wonder if indifference comes from not being under current threat. Trans people, immigrants, people on the edge of affording healthcare might feel less indifferent short term.

Also wonder how much mending of neoliberalism is enough or if it is time for a new shirt.

The number of middle aged and older men who are entirely incurious about the world, yet find their opinions privileged based on nothing but age and gender is pitiful.

Why these men think they should control the world when they have no interest in it beyond themselves is beyond me.

This should be a normal police experience. Not the aggression and treating every citizen as a potential enemy that so much "policing" has become.

Time for police to go with this good tune.

The editors at the NYT have meetings with reporters of what sort of story they are looking for. They hire editorialists based on what they expect their commentary will be.
The reporters know what will get assigned to them, and what will be taken up.
Dictating is just culture and policy.

I don't believe that contemporary corporate media has the same incentives as the 1970s Washington Post.

Most whistleblowers end up unemployable in the industries that they whistleblew in. Part of what makes them often heroes is that they go against personal gain for the public interest.

Lots of people covered for Catholic priests because to whistleblow meant loss of prestige and position.
November 13, 2025 at 3:52 AM
Totally. They know they go against the oligarchs and the money will not only stop flowing but will be used to make a lesson of them. Same with our most of our vaunted elected officials who have struck the same bargain for power.

Not to do good, but to have positions.

Hickenlooper let the eight be the sin eaters. He was reported to be on the fence up until they had enough votes.
Complicit? Completely.
November 12, 2025 at 11:17 PM
Found the MSNBC corporate shill.
November 12, 2025 at 11:09 PM
The legacy media hasn't been journalists for a generation.
Colbert's 2006 White House Correspondents Dinner speech called it out.

The question is why anyone still takes legacy media seriously as journalism instead of propaganda for an oligarchy meant to deceive and hurt its audience.
November 12, 2025 at 11:08 PM
The hard part is that as long as one rich person owns it, it will end up looking like WaPo or the NYT.

A large news organization needs protections from ownership. The ability to put the interests of the citizen being informed above the elite.

Even within there needs to be protection from editors
November 12, 2025 at 8:30 PM
It is hard to know in the Senate when they are all acting complicit.
The eight ate are the sin eaters. More of the others went with the plan.
November 11, 2025 at 10:39 PM
This is not a kumbaya moment. You failed and Americans wills die from it.
November 11, 2025 at 6:55 PM
Tim Kaine needs to be removed from the Democratic Caucus. Fascist Collaborators need to go.
November 11, 2025 at 7:05 AM
Dems shouldn't go to Vegas until Nevada gets better Senators.
November 11, 2025 at 7:04 AM
Fool me once, fool me twice, fool me three times...

I feel like I keep falling for the idea that the Democratic Party is a party for the people, even as it consistently proves otherwise.

But, I keep hoping because in a two party system it feels like the best hope.

And I just can't accept it isn't
