Oh, hey, I used to read that webcomic back in my college days in the early 2000s. There is a not-insignificant trend of comic artists I followed when I was younger later coming out as transgender. And despite this, (among many other things) it still took me until nearly 40 to figure my identity out.

Poor Vivi, he didn't ask to be made as a living weapon......

I don't think content creators have impacted my opinions of the set much at all. I had a lukewarm opinion of the set from the get-go, and once they announced 'Through the Omenpaths' for Arena (how I primarily play new Magic sets) I really just checked out, aside from a couple of cards.

The answer of course is "because money" and if it doesn't affect them personally or their bottom line, they don't care.

Summoner of Angels since the days of Serra's Realm and Selenia the Fallen. 20 years later, the cracks started appearing for me. Still slinging spells from the closet, but the internet is a strong tool for connection and expression. Oh, and I am an artist, though not specifically tied to Magic.

Wow, tech bros want SO badly for generative AI to be the sci-fi ideal of fully self aware, conscious AI, some of them are getting unhinged, thinking it’s already happening.

Sorry veteran Magic players, WotC's gotta try to grab those Fortnite kids and their disposable income. Who else is going to prop up Hasbro's rotting corpse if not WotC's money printer?

... religion, a man who, if he existed today, they'd likely hate. It's all a series of writings picked to support a power structure, written over many centuries by numerous authors and translated dozens of times, yet we were told it's the "Word of God" and brandished to enforce their point.

I was raised in the church, but stopped when I went to college. I read a lot of the bible, and there's a lot of parts that seem to contradict other parts, and the modern church often refers a lot to old testament and the opinions of Paul, and really glosses over Jesus, the supposed center of the...

I think their arguments boil down to a fractured democratic party with a large base of moderate to conservative dems at odd with progressive and socialist dems, meanwhile Republicans are fairly united and appealing to the ill-informed masses. If you fracture the left, how do you fight the right?

Sadly, "We the People" have been subject to decades of social engineering; lowering educational standards, talking heads, divide and conquer tactics, and much more, all to keep the public weak, divided, and uninformed. Also a political system that makes us feel powerless to enact real change.

I can't speak for the MTGO grind, but I know my first couple days on Arena have been decks I already had. I don't have the money to get enough EoE to do too much brewing. That being said, the one drop angel, Lightstall Inquisitor, has given my angel deck a new, strong tool.

It’s proof they spent decades and a lot of money tearing down public education. I wish I could find the source, but Google isn’t cooperating, anyway it was basically conservatives feared what the educated masses would mean for them long term, that’s how we got politicians like Reagan .

The cultural shift generally being more progressive and bigots don’t like that so they’ve been fighting hard against it and have a encouraging mouthpiece in the White House.

In all fairness this kinda behavior has ALWAYS happened, there’s always been plenty of shitty cops that abuse their power, plenty of bigots, but 2 things have changed, the internet has made these assholes much more visible & the cultural shift over the past 50 years has made them louder & more open

As an American living in small town America, this is best explained by the prevalent belief, especially among small town America, of Rugged Individualism, and that any sort of collective action (be it unions or socialized govt) is either A)inherently prone to corruption or B)makes you weak and lazy.

Having played the game, it’s a beautiful scene, but I fail to see how this is ‘Rhystic Study’. In short: flavor fail.

Armitage was one of my first anime I ever watched, and while I recognize it's not as good as te other two, it holds a special place for me as one of my first anime (it and Tenchi Muyo, to be exact.)

To be fair, the Jesus portrayed in the Bible would be persecuted by the modern American Christian for being a brown skinned radical who fought the establishment, helped the poor, and spent his time with the marginalized people of society.

Pretty sure that in Trump's mind, everything that America could possibly need or want can be sourced domestically. Or maybe he'll use 'things we can't source domestically' as justification for military backed expansion?

I use Gimp for Photos, all my illustration work is done in Clip Studio Paint these days. I only ever used Adobe when I was pirating it after college.
