With that said I think the closest only other "artist" I can compare Fujimoto to that's similar is Yoko Taro. I do recommend reading Fujimoto's one-shot "Good-bye Eri" as a litmus test of continuing CSM. It will provide a gist of his creative perspective.

That comparison seems wildly out-of-proportion considering that Berserk is a foundational work of fiction within Dark Fantasy as a whole and in consideration that Miura was a once-in-generational talent as a mangaka.

The sexual violence done to Denji at the very least is tackled with more weight and as a shonen it's one of the few that depicts the trauma from said violence. (eventually)

A lot of it does get better overtime and a lot of the elements in the first half does payoff later. The way women are written is mostly due to Fujimoto's fetish (he is deeply into femdom) and at many points it can (or is) innappropriate.

From what i gathered it's an aesthetic choice by the writer Natsu Hyuga and the decision boils down to "this sounds better"
