Hi! I draw and write for my world called #Tetra, and work as a concept artist. I did a lot of freelancing as an illustrator, and I like doing animation for fun.

Illustration of a summer outdoors scene. Pegasus is standing in shallow water in the center. To the right is a house with people in front of it. There are books scattered everywhere, even the trees and the rooftop. Comprehensive character reference sheet for Pegasus. Anatomical details, expression and motion examples, and a lot of textual character information. A stylized Pegasus figure drawn with black ink and golden gel pens on paper. Illustration of an anthropomorphic tigress sitting on the ground, holding a staff.

Hate to do this but I only had two orders this month and I'm overdrawn so if you could boost or check out my shop that'd be a great help! thanks anaisfae.art/shop/

imagine if a family of beavers randomly showed up right now and finished whatever thing you've been putting off
In early 2025, beaver activity in the Brdy Protected Landscape Area, Czech Republic, contributed to the restoration of a wetland ecosystem. A family of beavers constructed a series of dams that coincidentally accomplished environmental goals of the Czech government, which had delayed its proposed project since 2018 for bureaucratic and financial reasons. The beaver-built dams saved the Czech government approximately US$1.2 million,

That pie is a piece of fine art. What were the other pies doing, turning into pie mechas that can shoot jam at enemies?

I normally don't, but I once went out for a run on its first day, in the cold rain, at 3AM, in the dark, uphill. Sometimes hormones make you yearn for being a jackass

I figured that's what you mean! I mean I've been discouraged from trying 3D bc pros acted like e.g. learning UV mapping is a must, when I was a beginner with no mentor & had no idea abt how far I can or want to take 3D. I'd have benefited from being told sth like "maybe try Nomad first, not ZBrush"
whiteraven90.bsky.social
Define 3D. If you just want to sculpt, it's not hard. I at least never heard of anyone saying Sculptris or Nomad Sculpt kicked their ass. Or even SketchUp

Been a while since I set it to allow DMs only from users I follow, and it's been peaceful. 😌

I get those too. The flip side is that getting the aura lets me take a beefy painkiller in advance, and hurry back home if I'm out. I like the aura. :p
Would be a neat adoptable anyway

I realized just now that I did do a second take at Pegasus. Also remembered why there isn't a third. 😀 Because WHO IS THIS. I don't want a noble steed, I want a scrawny a-hole. Mission was already accomplished at first attempt, go home
Sketches of another variant of Pegasus, from 2013. A sturdier horse with a flowy mane and wider wings.

I love the hand-drawn typography in your stuff

Of course! I wondered bc when I work for myself, I don't do multiple versions right off the bat, and I thought "that's not very professional is it" but I don't WANT to be professional. I also do the back-and-forth thing! Feels like hiring an actor for a role and letting them influence the character

This is true 😔Being put in a soup and getting brewed seems to do this to some things

I think my process is similar. Seemingly messy/winding, but it has an internal logic I trust and like. Organic growth is good stuff. Thank you for your thoughts!

Oh I feel that conflict very much

*MORE RECENT than the headshots. I have a great grasp of time. Bsky should at least let you edit your posts during a 5 minute window after posting...

Same! I imprint on the first like a baby bird, haha. Why not. I think iterations matter much more for client work

My right hand, Pegasus - Full sheet in thread. It is a tiny bit dated (2018) so if it's unreadable due to compression that is fiiiiiiine by me

#Tetra #Pegasus #OC #illustration
1st part of Pegasus's reference sheet. Some lore, accompanied by full-body shots of his own and human forms, and a big portrait on the top left. 2nd part of Pegasus's reference sheet. The top left illustration is of his skeleton. Next to it is a close-up of his eye, showing that it barely has any color in it, and the pupil is crocodile-like. Next to that is a front-facing portrait. In the bottom left are 6 expression examples. In the bottom right are three illustrations of his skull: side view, 3/4 view, and top-down view. 3rd part of Pegasus's reference sheet, containing his human form. 6 expression examples on the top left, and a front and back full-body views on the right. Two big portraits in the middle. A back-view with wings on in the bottom right corner. In the bottom left corner is a whalebone stick with a chess knight figure on its top. Below it is the same stick, disassembled. On the very bottom is a mace. Last part of Pegasus's reference sheet, containing 6 full-body motion/behavioral examples.

Pegasus-posting some more. Messed around with his facial anatomy and expressions here (2019)

#Tetra #Pegasus #OC
A sketch page filled with drawings of Pegasus, with one human version in the bottom left corner. There is a full-body sketch in the bottom right corner. The rest of it is portraits, focusing on anatomy and expression.

Early Pegasus exploration sketches from ~2013-2015 🙃At first he was pretty much a toothy akhal-teke with wings. The full-body drawings are a bit older than the headshots and a bit more well-cooked IMO. Like a soup
Sketches of Pegasus from ~2013-2015. Headshots, expressions, and a doodle where he exclaims "I'm not a fucking horse". Top left sketch was rather influential for the final design. More sketches of Pegasus. A full-body one on the bottom left without wings, top-down. At the top, headshots with and without a mane. Bottom right shows him angrily holding a cartoony cat in his mouth. Even more sketches of Pegasus, most of which are full-body shots. Some with wings, some without. There are two scanned sketchbook drawings on the bottom right.

When the design is for myself, I tend to go with the first take. Minor tweaks later as I figure out how to draw them. The design typically differs from what I had in mind (SKILL ISSUE), but I often like it more than what I had in mind. I usually write first, and draw later or never
