It's easy to understand. If you have a darker skin color, you're bad to this "administration" unless you happen to also be very rich and "invest" in the country.

When the top 10 billionaires own basically all media outlets, and they all will benefit hugely from Project 2025, why would they allow their pet media to say a peep? It might throw a monkey wrench in their plans.

The odds are they'd see it as a sign of amazing loyalty to their "cause" and we know Charlie Kirk's widow is on board with the idea. It's absolutely vile to do that to your wife, but fully on brand here. So I'd expect it to happen sooner or later.

I thought leaking classified information was a very serious crime. At least Snowden and other leakers are being treated as if it were.

I'd love to see an F Zero game native to the Switch 2, likely with competitive multiplayer. There was a pretty good indie game for the Switch 2 (Fast Fusion) that is sort of like it, and quite good, but it didn't really scratch that itch.

So some Alcoholics Anonymous group will be very surprised to see a raccoon wander in and squat on a seat. Maybe he'll change to preferring coffee from the meetings.

They're only "sorry" the same way a speeder is sorry when a cop pulls them over and gives them a ticket. They're sorry they're facing consequences for their actions. There's zero genuine regret or remorse there. Or even willingness to change.

Any group that embodies hate to that degree absolutely should be bankrupted. However, I think it's best if every individual in that group is also held personally liable, criminally and civilly for their actions.

Except the difference there is the dinosaurs could do nothing about a world ending asteroid. We humans could do much about climate change. But almost nobody is willing to make the serious, permanent changes in their lifestyle to do so.
December 3, 2025 at 2:16 PM
Agreed. The only way the US can eventually start to heal from this "administration" is by aggressive criminal prosecution of everyone involved in this from the top down.

It's like selling elephant repellant spray. Then saying you didn't encounter any elephants so it's working.
December 3, 2025 at 1:05 AM
Agreed. Those vile people will eventually throw Trump under the bus when enough of that is implemented that the rest can be done quietly.
December 2, 2025 at 9:15 PM
Don't forget the Republican party of that era was the liberal party. It was around the 1950s, I think, when Republicans peeled off the very conservative "Dixiecrats" who were really pissed off about the Civil Rights Act. And became the conservative party.

So it should read "Free Speech and a Free Press, as long as the billionaire oligarchs approve the message."
December 2, 2025 at 5:57 PM
You are right. It will trickle down. Notice I carefully refrained from saying what it stands for. Spoiler alert, it's nothing positive like wealth.
December 2, 2025 at 4:04 PM
Especially when the incompetent little man is surrounded by people whose only concern is blind loyalty to that little man. Not the United States, not the Constitution, not the Geneva conventions. They all need to be removed from power.
December 2, 2025 at 4:02 PM
And I always thought it was about living without judging others and being kind to everyone. Or at least trying to. Not idolizing fear, hate and greed. All of which are pure ego.
December 2, 2025 at 2:56 PM
I thought there was an explicit Commandment about not praying to false idols. And a lot in the Bible is against focusing too much on material things like wealth. I clearly didn't learn the Republican "Christianity" in Sunday school.

He demands unquestioning loyalty from others, even over US law, the country itself, basically anything. It doesn't mean he gives anything in return. Fairness is not in his vocabulary.

Anyone in the world who is a billionaire. And who believes there's literally nothing money cannot buy.
December 1, 2025 at 4:10 PM
I'm very glad that our neighbor to the north has remained sane. The only good thing that came out of this so-called administration in the US is, at least, it forewarned you Canadians so you didn't vote in someone like that.
December 1, 2025 at 4:07 PM
I remember back in the 1980s, the Republicans were supposedly the law and order party. In 2025 we are seeing exactly what that means.

And given his outrage over respected military veterans reminding our servicemen and women that they have an obligation to refuse any illegal orders, speaks volumes for his intentions.

He has only one person he cares about. Himself.

Even if he did, it would be for a photo op. The only sincere kindness never needs to be advertised.
