Honestly, I think our numbers being so tiny doesn't help with that. Most gentiles have never met a Jew in their lives, and they probably never will.

Welcome to world of Frum Judaism, where the misconception is that we're all black-hatters with long sideburns and don't talk to women.

When The WZC elections happened this year, Reform Jews were definitely voting for their intended slate.
whitly12.bsky.social
I'm not an expert in the movement, but I know that Modern Reform Judaism is much more Zionistic as a whole than it was initially.
whitly12.bsky.social
It's worth remembering that Reform Judaism's platforms have evolved several times since 1879.

There are roughly 16 million of us globally, and we agree on very little. You can find Jews within movements that believe just about anything.
whitly12.bsky.social
You have to provide some real examples, you know. >_>

Granted, her Zionism aligns more with bridge-building between Israelis and Palestinians, but still!

I know a rabbi who's as peacenik, crunchy granola as you can get in Judaism, and even she's a Zionist!

"European invaders".

Half of Israel's Jews are Middle Eastern in origin, but okay.

Exactly! Most Ultra-Orthodox sects have women involved in their movements in some manner. The Neturei Karta don't.
whitly12.bsky.social
Either way, the whole sect should be treated like poison, not revered because they stand vaguely for something they don't really believe anyway.
whitly12.bsky.social
I remember seeing a Neturei Karta representative at a pro-Palestinian demonstration a few months ago. I live in Toronto, and when my sister-in-law asked how he got there, my brother informed her that he was probably bused in from New York City.

I don't like invoking The No True Scotsman Fallacy with Jews, but it's very tempting with that sect.
whitly12.bsky.social
Nah. Even Israelis would rather engage with The PLO than The Neturei Karta. At least the former actually has principles, however warped they are.
whitly12.bsky.social
I agree that the Ultra-Orthodox world isn't a monolith, but I strongly urge you to expand your net outside of The Neturei Karta.

"Ultra-Orthodox Jews"

Which ones? Chabad? Satmar? Bresolver? Charedi?
whitly12.bsky.social
Also, they were excommunicated when I was in high school for attending an event with The Ayatollah of Iran by most Jewish groups.

That was 18 years ago.

If this sounds fake, remember that Al-Quds Brigade's account used similar language on Twitter the week of October 7th to describe the holiday.
whitly12.bsky.social
Anyway, reminder that Monday night begins a holidays where we pesky Jewsies stomp our feet and conjure up demons while holding an ancient scroll with voodoo written on it.

And yes, I know that IRD used hashtags all the time.

It was a waste of time there too.
whitly12.bsky.social
I purposely avoid using hashtags at the end of my stuff because it hasn't been proven to boost my Views at all. Why would you do that with AI?

What am I supposed to use this for, Blogger?
A notice for a Beta Feature in Blogger that implements links to from key words to search for similar topics online.

Also, lobbies only give money to politicians who already agree with their views.
