Councilmember confirms in a statement that ICE was in Whittier this weekend.

The weekly Whittier Swap Meet at California High School in Whittier was unexpectedly canceled today following reports of potential ICE activity in the area.

Federal workers received an email Saturday afternoon asking them to list their accomplishments from the past week or resign.

Back in 2008, Whittier created the Uptown Specific Plan to revitalize the area, including an "aggressive" housing plan. 17 years layer, the city council approved its first housing project to move forward. #housing

Whittier said goodbye to city manager Brian Saeki during his last city council meeting. Mayor Joe Vinatieri shared his favorite moments with Brian, including that one time he got to experience visiting an edgy barrio.

Then city council stated that Whittier is NOT a sanctuary city in defiance of California state sanctuary laws. They decided this without ever voting or discussing this issue publicly. Are police cooperating with ICE?
