I bought myself a Sceptres sweatshirt to wear to games and then Jules stole it. So I bought myself a Sceptres hoodie and now she’s asking to trade me my own sweatshirt for my hoodie.

My mom is refusing to go to the dr about her back pain because “the last time” she had similar pain the dr wasn’t helpful. “The last time” she felt like this I LIVED WITH HER. I have been married for 15 years now and moved out a couple years before that. Maybe it’s not the same issue, mother.

Last house league practice before the holiday break so all the kids have Santa hats on top of their helmets and the ice is covered in tiny rubber chickens??

Just drove to the girls’ school to pick them up because one of them has hockey early this evening and they both seem to have forgotten. Buses gone, kids not here. Perfect.

Extended family draws names for a kid gift swap. The teens are all just asking for gift cards so we are basically just trading cash at this point? Idk. It was fun when they were small and had to think about their cousin and choose a gift this is… maybe time to move on from this tradition.

Was talking with two friends whose kids play competitive soccer and one mentioned that their soccer program has grown a lot by… not requiring kids to participate in off-season training! What a concept.

J’s school does a one day hockey tournament. They didn’t have enough grade 7/8 students sign up so the try out is just for some grade 6 students to fill the extra spots. It’s JUST for fun. All these kids play in competitive leagues. And yet the parents are yelling at them from the stands.

Jules again asked for help with something, told me I was wrong, asked for more suggestions, told me I wasn’t helpful… so I told her to wait and ask her dad who just told her I was right. Phew.

The girls’ school sent an email warning about a stomach bug spreading and now kids are dropping like flies in the hockey RSVPs for tomorrow. I feel like our days are numbered.

Abby needs a bigger dresser and the one we wanted from ikea is on sale so I picked it up today. The biggest box was 80lbs and too long to just slide into the trunk so I am sweaty but it is IN THE CAR. Unloading will be another adventure but let’s not think about that just yet.
