I haven't been on here for a bit. Did I miss anything? Doesn't look like it. Meh... anyhoo, Hi!

My dad would have been celebrating another birthday in his 90s today. He passed in 2020 from Lewy Bodies. I was his youngest, and he was in his mid 40s when I was born. He was a mechanic in the Army, and worked for Bell & Howell for several decades after. He loved auto racing and cracking jokes.

Just a reminder that Cory Booker doesn't do anything unless APAIC tells him to do it.

In the last 5 years, thanks to Tiktok and YT, I have taught myself how to dehydrate, ferment, can, and now I can add cheese making to that list. Taking control of your food is the easiest way to resist.

My first attempt at gouda. Just finished the brine soak. Now it is curing for 24 hours. Tomorrow night will be waxing and starting the aging process in the basement. I'm thinking of aging it until July.

Did you know the Democrats want to censure Al Green, the only one of them to protest loudly at the SOTU? No one can convince me the are the opposition or resistance party. They can't be when most of them also get funded by the same people that fund the Reps. *coughs* APAIC *coughs*

I make clicking noises at the crows around my house when I throw peanuts out for them. One of them is the leader and it sits above me when I take my dog out to let me know they want food. This morning it looked down at me and started making clicking noises at me. It was very clear communication.

I found 4 packs of chicken quarters marked to sell for about $4 each the other day. I boiled 2 of them down, separated the meat from bone, made chipotle chicken and then rebel canned 9 jars of the leftover stock. Taking control of your food is one of the biggest ways to resist.

Economic blackouts are cool and all, until you are someone with limited resources and limited funds, and you have been waiting all week to get paid and eat finally. Or finally able to get your car off just fumes. I think making it on a day where most low-wage workers get paid is kinda not smart.

I didn't realize how many of my friends were actual Nazis until now. I always gave the benefit of the doubt that they were indoctrinated their whole lives with patriotic propaganda, but it turns out they are actual Nazis. My lifelong list of homies is sure thinning out.

I love leftover night. Once a week we just open all the leftover containers, and each of us scoop what we want on a plate. The worst part is the line for the microwave, but it is better than cooking a whole ass meal. We end up with some interesting combos. Tonight's combo was Mexican/Asian/Italian.

Women all over the US are finding out their credit scores tanked for no reason while their husband or male partner's went up. Also, the Feds reported student loans that are in forbearance, already forgiven, or in review for PSFL to credit burrows, some even back logged previous months as non paid.

Had to have another MRI today. Show of hands, who else falls fast asleep while in one of those? Some of the best naps I have had were in an MRI machine.

I am not sure who needs to hear this, but snow tires make all the difference in inclement weather. Even if you have to buy them in spring or summer and have to make payments. It makes all the difference if you need to travel in snow. Not all weather, not studded, actual SNOW TIRES.

How many of you have DuoLingo Super? I have been really enjoying learning Mandarin, and am at the point where I think I can benefit from a little more personalized learning.

What? The new Trump tax plan does not say anything about no tax on tips, no tax on OT, no tax on SS. It does give trillions more tax cuts to the top 1% though.

Kids went to the doc yesterday because they have been sick all week. Luckily they are at the tail end of it. The doctor said there are 21 cold viruses out there right now. Covid and Influenza A&B being the top 3. He said this seasons flu shots were very ineffective. Kids are mending, but now I am 🤢.

I mentioned to someone that rickets and scurvy were making a comeback here in the U.S. There response was ,"Not surprising, people are losing hygiene skills and they don't take care of themselves well anymore." Like, what? No. It is because they live in food deserts and in poverty. Not hygiene.
