The opposite of faith isn’t doubt—it’s certainty.

Just as love and hatred are deeply connected, doubt reflects a desire to understand, a yearning for faith.

You’re closer to faith when you ask questions than when you cling to certainty.

I noticed that people often want me to give advice in spiritual direction. Don’t get me wrong. I love giving advice but that’s not my role as a SD. I’m here to be a companion with listening and question.

I am afraid listening is a dying skill.

These words were truly comforting to me at the end of this day. Perhaps it will be a gift to you, too.

Thus says the LORD:

Cursed are those who trust in mere mortals
and make mere flesh their strength,
whose hearts turn away from the Lord.
