Video games, tabletop RPGs, and art.
Might repost some NSFW-lite so watch out for that.
An amazing sports movie. Tachyon was already my fave so I feel spoiled with a whole movie about her. I teared up just about every time she was on the track risking it all. Animation was gorgeous, with beautiful colors and effects during each race.

Pretty decent! Definitely suffers from having to set up the premise of its setting while also balancing the narrative of its protagonists. Leads to some oddities, like McQueen and Teio being introduced but not having much spotlight within this season. Overall liked it.

I sort of hate finished this and it's not worth it.

When it's being a manga about Magic's history, old meta, and card combos, it's a good time. When it's a teen romance drama, it's embarrassing male wish fulfillment.
What if being good at Magic meant all the girls who play Magic want to date you??

It's like funny, lesbian Fight Club. Extremely entertaining all throughout. Most every joke landed and dialogue was paced perfectly. Never lingered on a bit too long. Lots of silly shenanigans going on in the background of a lot of shots.

One of the scariest games I've ever played. The limited inventory and tank controls take some getting used to, but both enhance the tension and horror. The fixed camera angles and prerendered backgrounds also lead to some gorgeous shots that still hold up 20 years later.

This movie is sick as hell. Some absolutely beautiful scenes and set pieces from Madhouse. I've seen this like 4 or 5 times now and think I love it more each time. The perfect level of edge for a dark fantasy imo. Paints a fantastical world without needing to explain it.

This sure is a sad, gay, coming-of-age movie. I think this is an exemplary 6 or 7/10 "Fine" movie. If it leaned into more into the surreal aspects, such as the talking hamster and body horror visions, I think it could have been a much better movie.

When the establishing shot of the Enterprise's exterior went on for almost 5 full minutes I thought I was losing my mind.
This is very clearly a decent 50-minute episode of the show stretched out to a terribly dull 2 hour movie.

It's peak. Totally elevated and fleshed out the manga in some really cool ways. I knew it'd emotionally devastate me and it still got me crying towards the end. That scene with Angel and Aki in particular has me in tears. 10/10 I love Reze and Angel.

This movie rocks. Totally holds up. The miniatures used for the future battle scenes are amazing. I know Arnold plays a good guy in 2 but he shot up a police station in this one so maybe he wasn't all bad to begin with?
Also whew there's quite a bit of Arnold ass in this.

I wish I liked this movie more than I do. It's such a SLOW burn for very little payoff. I appreciate the vibes of the hotel and a lot of cool shots, like Danny riding through the halls or the party scenes. Shelly Duvall is great in this and I can't believe people shit on her acting.

I had no idea this movie was so "lesbi-gay." Hell yeah. What a dumb, fun time. The world needs more toxic lesbian monster romance.

It's so good! I already liked S1 and think this surpasses it. Carrie Preston makes Elsbeth feel like a fusion of a ray of sunshine, a jack-in-the-box, and Columbo. Every time she leaps into the scene my day improves. I strongly recommend this for anyone who enjoys murder mysteries.

NOOOO IT WAS BAD. I really enjoyed the first two seasons in all their absurd monster of the week cheesiness.
But S3 doesn't have it! I feel like their budget was mercilessly slashed because the shots are worse, the sets are boring, and there's none of the spooky vibes.

This is SO damn good. The perfect balance between adventure and dark fantasy. This is the exact tone I want in TTRPGs and this book has so many ideas I wish I thought up myself.
It's dark and dreary without being edgy. Shel does an amazing job of building dread throughout.

Underwhelming.

I thought this was a book about a cursed movie, but it's actually about creating the legend of a cursed movie. It's intentionally artsy and navel-gazing about horror as a genre, and it very much wants to filter out people more interested in cheap scares and thrills.

It feels just like it did over a decade ago. Really enjoy the demon sisters getting to be part of the main cast.
I think there were more segments that were total misses for me though. More than once I found myself checking the time to see how long was left in the episode.
