On 15 Sept, #WHRD Nasrin Javadi was released from prison, having spent over three years in prison due to her human rights and labour rights work.
We welcome this news and continue to call for the release of all unjustly imprisoned HRDs in Iran.

During #WHRDAdvocacyWeek, women defenders will advance their advocacy by meeting with Special Procedures mandate holders, diplomats, and UN staff. They will also connect with Geneva’s international community to strengthen solidarity and impact.

The participants of #WHRDAdvocacyWeek 2025 met with OHCHR staff to share context on challenges faced by WHRDs defending land and environmental rights and to learn more about OHCHR’s mandate.
