To wrap up this long rant, in ring stories are probably the most important, especially if they affect the match outcome. And doing the "damn, this ref is dumb and cost the babyface the match once again" stories over and over is annoying.

Sabu never cut a promo. Never stopped me from loving his matches.

I remember zero promos by Kota Ibushi or Hayabusa or Tajiri. Were they terrible performers or not real wrestlers?

Kenny's promos are fine. But in ring is where he shines. Promo ability is overrated. It's not the 70's anymore.

I watch AEW mainly for the action (flippy shit) and the in-ring storytelling. Anything extra is a welcome bonus. If I want great storytelling in general, I can watch Black Mirror, Better Call Saul, etc.

I can live without promos. Sabu (RIP) was my favorite and became a hall of famer with 0 promos.

And this is why I get annoyed with people/podcasters saying Kris Statlander should not be AEW champ because of her "weak promos". Really? She's one of the best in the ring; she can do power & high-flying spots. Who gives a shit about the promos? Do you watch sports for the pre/post-game interviews?

I wanna watch The Raid & Police Story movies, not the Taken franchise. Fuck a famous actor/celebrity who can "act"/cut a promo but underdelivers on the action side (Liam Neeson, Uma Thurman, etc.). Give me Iko Uwais, Zoe Bell, Donnie Yen. Give me Ospreay & Ricochet, not CM Punk or Eddie Kingston.

I enjoy pro wrestling differently. Mainly, I don't gaf about promos. I don't care about Liam Neeson's promos about his particular set of skills. I care about the action/stunts, the ability & credibility of the performer(s). Never watched Jackie Chan, Jet Li, Bruce Lee movies because of their promos

Treating referees like idiots sucks. We've seen matches in the past where decisions have been reversed. Why can't the referees consult the video footage (replay)?

I was about to post something similar. El Clon has looked just as good i(f not better) than Hologram did in his first few matches in AEW.

After a week, I think this version gets deleted and then they upload the "full" (Triller) version to which they add HBO Max ads (or none), depending on your plan.
