a group of six red-tail black cockatoos visits my garden to feed on the nuts of a silver princess gum tree. they are messy feeders and strew branches and half eaten nuts all over, as nature intended. the sky behind the tree is a brilliant blue

After completing the survey, the helicopter landed, where a specialist then requested the transport of one penguin back to Port Elizabeth. The report did not say why they had picked up the penguin.

these three are in the same room. Scarlett and Marmaduke (left) moved in a week ago and Kovo the tabby hasn't kicked them out yet. they spend most of the time in separate rooms, and this is the first time they've all been relaxed together

The memo then asks for a list of business “sectors of concern within the Department of Justice” and the “most egregious and discriminatory DEI and DEIA practitioners in each sector of concern.” It also asks for “litigation activities” and “other strategies” to target these private sector companies, evidently envisioning a coordinated, agency-wide onslaught that would divert many attorneys’ attention away from their normal areas of practice. Bondi says the DOJ will also be working with the Department of Education to make sure that universities are in compliance with the administration’s new anti-DEIA mandate.

The message is a blatant and desperate attempt to sweep the federal workforce clear of the president’s adversaries, and is uncannily similar to a memo from Elon Musk to Twitter employees in 2022. Musk encouraged Twitter (now X) staffers to resign unless they could commit to being "extremely hardcore."
