...my favorite technique here is to be blunt and ask the agent to "reconsider your approach" or "change strategy" 🧑🏫. That often resets it's chain of thought. Or even more abrubt - just start a new conversation and reset the whole thing...

...I've experienced so many times now where the coding agents goes down a rabbit hole and creates more problem than the initial one, because it started in the wrong end or just figured it should use a novel approach. 🐰...

Knowing what your agent writes, being able to tell it where it took the wrong path, and instruct it to look at certain pieces is absolutley critical. And that requires knowledge of software and programming. 🧠...
