True. But there’s a shortfall in awareness and accessibility. I was unaware of Aftermath til you mentioned it (and a quick Google brings up a gaming site so I’m still hazy). I periodically get unsolicited print publications and small papers in the mail but they tend to be right-leaning.

I wish we could turn that ship around. Ad-driven print is not a perfect defense against bots, trolls, AI and ‘is this content real?’ But it’s something. And there’s better accountability for advertisers who would no longer have to worry about where their ads are served (see Bob Hoffman on the topic)

(I could never smoke when I was hungover and when I tried, there was a specific and awful feeling, like, hangover magnified. I started feeling that way every time I smoked and it was super effective 😬)

Sometimes I get nostalgic or freaked out or want to participate in the once-every-couple-years celebratory cigarette with friends, but even the thought makes me sick. If I could bottle the really random way I quit smoking, I’d make a fortune.

The "creator" who is prank calling churches with a recording of crying baby to "audit" them? WTAF x10 ... if only there was narcan for outrage.

I work for a smaller church that has a food pantry and works with non-profits in the county. This whole TikTok thing has set me off. Even before I started here, I never had the idea that every church was like the Righteous Gemstones or whatever.

The thread I saw on another platform where a user was demanding to be directed to the "lefty-run food banks" and how he was pretty sure there weren't any. I considered asking to be directed to the righty ones... and talked myself down from walking into it.

Man, the moral arc cannot bend fast enough at this point. OTOH, I’m at least learning more than I thought possible about the Edmund Fitzgerald!
