Everybody running their business on Microsoft products need to wake up, and fast. Their *are* great European alternatives, especially for those of you who basically just need a home page, e-mail, calendar, colorful spreadsheets and a place to store invoice and tax data.
First Trump and now Big Tech trolling the EU, Nato and Denmark. Microsoft makes Greenland its image of the day on Bing desktop. Well trolling is how it felt to me.

This is a heartbreaking account of why going back to physical labor won't answer AI's employment impact.

Implicitly though, it also highlights how economic subsistence as a potentially human node in a computer network won't keep the cat fed.

Zelensky’s strategy remains to agree to things so as to show Trump that he’s playing along, - knowing Putin isn’t going to accept any of this anyway - hoping that will finally convince Trump to turn on Russia.

Putin’s will watch and see what Zelensky gives up - and then keep fighting regardless.
Trump said he and Zelensky discussed many issues and have moved closer — possibly very close.

He added that he plans to speak with Zelensky again tomorrow.

It's that time of the year when your organisation is trying to decide whether racism is more important than antisemitism, general lying or covering for pedophiles.

Instead of forcing Russia to the table, the U.S. has sent 2 real estate guys to represent what they channel to be Russia's position on Ukraine. Needless to say, news media in Europe are covering this as a real peace effort where the key takeaway is that European negotiators look weak.

The mobster summit went really well. No peace, no deals, but at least we brought up the idea of a larger war in Europe.

Remember the times when the US had real people in its State Department and foreign policy was cleared with Congress?

So the Russians fed a list of their demands to real estate tycoon Steve Witkoff and planted it as the new "U.S. peace plan" in the news cycle via Axios and now we are led to believe that Donald Trump will ultimately decide, while neither Russia nor China are even on the table.

Those who possess power move in a sphere of unresisting obedience, without the human matter around them being capable of creating that brief interval between impulse and action where thought has its place. Where there is no room for thought, neither justice nor caution have their place. (S. Weil)

Considering the political catastrophe currently being facilitated or indulged by US hyperscalers (Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Meta, OpenAI, etc.) my questions is this: How are we still existentially dependent on their products and services? Why aren't there mass defections from these terrible risks?
