Amazing thread. Reminds me of the “kids today are lazy” cliche and that someone found texts from Ancient Rome bemoaning the useless youth of today

This is less bleak than the 2055 I fear, where there is no scripted tv any more and as the last gen xers complain there’s nothing to watch their kids and grandkids point them to billions of 2 minute vids

That was the best thing on tv.”we didn’t burn him” is the best response to “have you seen this man?” in screen history

The Wookiee roared in triumph. It was done. After 13 years of toil it stood before her. The first working animus the n the galaxy. She roared again. This time it was accompanied by a malignant odour. She checked. No follow through. “Good. Now Rey will pay for what she did to my father” she thought

Today I voted for the first time since 1997 when Blair won. Spent the last 25 years living in countries where I couldn’t vote but became a Canadian citizen and voted purely because of trump

Yeah agreed. I like hearing about the subtle things they use it for. Like if a dog is supposed to be threatening and scary but the actor is having so much fun he’s wagging his tail furiously they remove the wagging post production

I think if it more like the advent of cgi. I remember the plane crash scene in Air Force one thinking why the hell did they use shitty cgi when Sfx people had been crashing planes into the sea for decades without it. Eventually it found its place.
