The biggest issue is political. This increases debt in a currency which is currently domestic. However if independence were to occur, these bonds would be denominated in a foreign currency.

Scrap UC and its means-testing bureaucracy and replace it with a UBI system that gives every UK adult a fixed £2k a month regardless of background or circumstance.
