This autumn, please consider leaving dead plants in your garden rather than 'tidying' them up. Over the winter they will provide sheltered spots for hibernating ladybirds and lots of other creatures 🐞

Keeping a small area of grass unmown throughout autumn & winter can benefit wildlife. Long grass offers protection to all sorts of creatures, from beetles & bumblebees to frogs & toads.

Small gardens can boost biodiversity just as much as big ones. And when joined together, tiny nature-friendly spaces create wildlife corridors that can benefit hedgehogs and all sorts of other wildlife!

To help insects this autumn, let native plants grow in a wild corner. Teasels, dandelions, dead nettles and hemp-agrimony all flower into autumn, providing nectar for butterflies and bumblebees.
