We stopped off for a couple of short hikes into the trees - wonderful place and, I felt, superior to the national park further to the north where it was more difficult to get amongst the trees due to the undergrowth.

#TheRoad to #Everest crosses several high passes in #Tibet, switchbacking laboriously up and down each side. At the Gawu La pass, Everest, with its north-east ridge, is just visible (center horizon with the ‘traditional’ plume from the summit).

#Tryfan, its north ridge, and the #Ogwen valley in #Eyri (Snowdonia) National Park, North #Wales (Gogledd #Cymru). A top 5 favorite hiking and scrambling spot since my teens.

Found while touring a Bhuddist monastery in Tibet, multiple small butter lamps arranged in ascending rows shine brightly in an otherwise gloomy shrine, letting out enough light to illuminate a beautiful painted backdrop.

Another shot of the #Seattle #Skyline, this time from the very popular Queen Anne viewpoint to the north of the #city. This is how the city appeared back in 2013, before the new Amazon towers and buildings between downtown and Lake Union had been built.

A wooden footbridge crossing a river in Nepal, used to convey both trekkers, locals, and animal traffic on the march to and from the base camp for Mount Everest. On the far side a steep and winding climb proceeds to the village of Namche Bazaar. The bridge rails on either side host countless prayer flags added over time by passersby’s.

A slow exposure of the Paradise River at Narada Falls, dropping 188 feet over exposed rock. An example of a horsetail waterfall. In spring and summer it’s quite common to find a rainbow, whilst in water the falls have been known to freeze.
