The President cannot pardon nor commute Contempt of Court punishment by the judge. Imprisonment is rare however.

The Democrats are in the minority in both in the House and Senate. Their power is limited. They need Mitch McConnell's minority playbook now! That said, the Republican's could put a stop to this madness now, but won't for some damn reason.
