THE BRAVE

My paternal grandfather William Paterson Cross, Canadian Army, and his brother Robert McKenzie Cross, British Army
who both fought in the Trenches in the Great War.

Each survived, but suffered the scars of battle until their deaths in 1968 and 1954 respectively.

“Early evening autumn in London is calm and peaceful.
Seagulls by the Thames Embankment glean above the bridges,
The sun slips off the buildings,
Bringing a declining light on office cliffs of stone”

THE OTHER STRAWBERRY FIELDS

For a talk on "Childhood" musing on the destruction on the fruit plantations of Clydeside

"Let me take you down
'Cause I'm going to strawberry fields
Nothing is real
And nothing to get hung about
Strawberry fields forever."

Plenty to get hung about!
