It is both #MapMonday and #ExmoorDay today, so here is a map (published 1890) showing the only #OnePlaceStudy in Exmoor registered with us: Hoar Oak Cottage. Our Hoar Oak Cottage, Exmoor One-Place Study profile page has more on this OPS, and a link to the Friends of Hoar Oak Cottage website.

The buildings are set amongst fields which have symbols indicating rough grassland and moorland. To the East is a river running roughly from South to North, named Hoaroak Water. The only means of access to the buildings is via a footpath or track. A county boundary is marked; most of the land covered by this map extract lies in Devon, but a small portion in the Southwest corner lies in Somerset.
