I am probably switching my affiliation to Independent. Yes, I still definitely lean towards voting Democrats over Republicans. But, Democrats are useless and Republicans are corrupt and/or insane.

Why do I think it would flip? 1. The demographics of CA-41 are getting bluer (e.g., it is getting more diverse and more educated). 2. Midterms generally favor the party out of power and Democrats are out of power. 3. Calvert is past his prime and his age might be a liability and not an asset.

If you take out Palm Springs and the Coachella Valley area (e.g., Rancho Mirage, Palm Desert and La Quinta) out of CA-41 and CA-41 would be a Safe Red district. If Texas and California did not proceed with gerrymandering, then I think the current CA-41 would flip blue in 2026.
