HMRC is examining finances of George Cottrell, advisor to Farage, who he says is like a son

Cottrell was charged in US for
money laundering, wire fraud, blackmail & extortion. He conspired to launder millions of $’s of drug money using offshore bank accounts

No wonder he’s in bed with Reform 🤷🏼‍♂️
Tax authorities examine finances of key Nigel Farage ally
Exclusive: HMRC conducts scoping exercise into Reform UK backer ‘Posh George’ Cottrell’s income from business and wealth

Agreed. You'd hope he had the self-awareness to understand he had his shot, and the very best thing he can do now is sit things out.

You and I have followed each other for many years. I have NEVER said, or even implied, on here, or Twitter before, that pedestrians must get out of the way of cyclists.
I have said cyclists need to slow down, or even stop for pedestrians more times than I can remember.
I'd have thought that'd count.
williamnb.bsky.social
That pavement isn't perfect, but if I was running along there, I'd be on the pavement, without any issue. That pavement is fine to run on.
williamnb.bsky.social
I have no issue with anyone challenging anything I said. But if you do so, then at least challenge what I said.
If you go invent an alternate reality on your head, and want to argue about it, you're getting blocked.

I don't suffer fools.

Yes, footways are often in appalling shape. Again, I have zero issue with runners using cycle lanes, but let's have some give & take: DON'T wear headphones, so you can hear me calling to you, and when convenient, consider moving out of the CYCLE lane, so I can safely pass.
williamnb.bsky.social
OK, fuck off over there onto my block list.
You implied a great deal, and you completely misrepresented the situation, for whatever warped vision in your head.
Life's too short to have to put up with you.
williamnb.bsky.social
Nope. Only the edge undulates for driveway entrances. Most of the pavement doesn't.
williamnb.bsky.social
Nope. Why the last edge of the pavement undulates, most of the pavement doesn't. That pavement is wide, and that runner was being absolutely inconsiderate.
If she wasn't wearing ear buds, and responded to any of my 4 attempts to call out to her, I might have felt differently.
williamnb.bsky.social
Yeah, I'm going to tell you to sod off, too, and to stop making judgements on situations you know next to nothing about.

Also, welcome to my mute list.
williamnb.bsky.social
1) Stop being an absolute arsehole in this
2) To get past her, I had to take a gap with 40 mph traffic, on a busy road. Let me know if I need to draw pics in crayon so even you can grasp the added danger
3) This is your last warning, before you're getting blocked
williamnb.bsky.social
You are truly getting on my nerves now. YOU weren't there. I was.

I tried calling out, FOUR times. You have absolutely no idea what that road is like, yet you're determined to defend and excuse utterly selfish behaviour from the runner.
williamnb.bsky.social
No. You're implying what happened was radically different to the reality, to suit some unknown and deeply warped view you hold. Off you pop.
williamnb.bsky.social
I have no issue with a bit of give and take. Sometimes, a cycle lane can be a good option for pedestrians and/or runners.

What THAT runner did was frigging selfish, and absolutely inconsiderate.
williamnb.bsky.social
OK, now you can simply sod off.
I *deferred* to the runner. I *didn't* crash into her. HTF does that remind you of a biker who deliberately crashed into someone? What's wrong with you?

Stop pretending what happened here was anything other than a selfish runner having zero consideration for others.
williamnb.bsky.social
I *did* defer to her, but the point is that she was selfish, and had zero consideration for others.
I'd have no issue if there was no footway at all, but there is one.
williamnb.bsky.social
Except a very loud "Excuse me" had no effect, due to her ear buds.
Are you suggesting her convenience trumps my safety?
williamnb.bsky.social
Yes, it undulates, but that doesn't give that runner any excuse for endangering cyclists.
williamnb.bsky.social
Ouch. So sorry to hear this.
With whatever bug you have, please taking H2 antihistamine daily? Most supermarket brands are of the H2 variety. It can significantly reduce your symptoms.
I hope you feel better soon, and that work picks up rapidly.
williamnb.bsky.social
Runners, if you do this, then you're an absolutely selfish prick.
There's a wide pavement, but this runner uses the cycle lane, along a busy, 40 mph road, forcing cyclists into the car lanes.
Get in the sea!
A streetscape. To the left is a wide, fairly even pavement that's mostly empty. Right next to the kerb, on the road, there's a red-surfaced cycle lane, with a runner running in the cycle lane.
