I took tomorrow off work and we won’t be getting home until after 1am (hours past my bedtime), but it’s worth it to me to see her smile. I have less than a year until she leaves for college so I will cherish these moments.

In all seriousness, this was the third time trying to get my kid to see Shawn Mendes (who she loves so much) and the last two times didn’t happen so I took her and her cousin tonight and I am just sitting here waiting for them to come out and tell me how much fun they had.

I love those early baseball memories. I distinctly remember going to a Brewers/Angels game when I was five and coloring in a coloring book the whole time and some guy got mad that I wasn’t paying attention to Rod Carew and my dad telling him to shut up.

I hate to say it but the majority of the country is not going to die on the hill of trans rights. We can’t protect ANY groups if we can’t win a national election, so purity tests only serve to make specific groups feel triumphant. That’s not “erasing” them; it’s long-horizon strategy.
