I think Elon is just another deeply disturbed tech bro with more money than he knows what to do with, and a fervent passion for the accelerationist movement. He thinks destroying the world will give him a chance to play god. To his chagrin, he’s not original, we’ve seen his kind many a time before.

Just a conjecture but I feel like this article still rings true. Elon has a track record of aligning with whatever chaotic zeitgeist is in vogue. He knows far right ideologies are a destabilizing force right now, which is why he’s using it. He’ll drop it when it not longer suits his personal goals.
