I personally,

• would be fine with a less regular standard postal service

• as a business owner, I would look positively at a more competitive shipping option for e-commerce

• buying online I would select that option if it was cheaper and roughly similar in delivery time

new services idea 2:

— e-commerce partnerships with canada owned businesses where economic impact is much greater (🇨🇦 $, jobs, taxes, come from those goods delivered vs. an intl. shop drop shipping from China. Even if it loses $ it’s a win for Canadian consumers.)

3. find 1-2 delivery services to become competitive or partner with for-profits (two ideas as examples)

Idea 1:

— “last leg” door delivery (can CP out price UPS/FedEx for rural deliveries? would they subcontract this to save their own costs?)🤷‍♂️

1. reduce standard postal mail delivery to 2x per week in general

2. implement more community mail box kiosks in cities like we have rurally

Both of these would greatly reduce the day-to-day costs for maintaining the postal *service* and would free up hours to be used elsewhere 👇
