Hands down our best signing since SAF. Looks reborn playing further up the pitch. I think he’ll carry us into a top 4 finish.

I get it. He’s worked hard. He’s home. He wants to stay…. but I was hoping he’d want to get back to Manchester, have a couple extra days with the new manager, and that he’d be eager to claim the RB role. I think most of us agree he’s better than Dalot, and we need him to show it.

He’s my top choice. Is it realistic? I dunno

Wouldn’t be the worst signing in the world. I want someone who understands the PL, but I’m not sure Glasner is the guy.

Christ, why? Just sign a damn midfielder, FFS

Maz and Shaw in traditional RB and LB roles sounds pretty solid to me. Dalot/Dorgu as depth is good. The team is just better suited to play back 4. Allows us to put an extra body in midfield, which also suits our personnel. I was behind Amorim, but I’m not sure his system would ever work in the PL.

Shaw, Licha, de Ligt, Maz is a good back 4. Cunha, Mbuemo, Sesko is a good front 3. Kobbie and Bruno in the middle is a good start. If we can bring in a DM, I think we’re in really good shape. Less reliance on outside backs to get forward, and an extra body to help out in the middle. We’ll be fine.

If we switch to a 4-3-3 or a 4-2-3-1, we have the talent to qualify for ECL. If Carrick or Ole get us in, I think they’ll get the full time job, which is fine by me. Bigger issue is player talent ID and recruitment, which is on the right track under Vivell. I think we’re going to be fine.

Emery

Doubt we could pry him from Villa, but I really want a manager that’s done it in the PL, understands the pace, physicality, and which tactics will/won’t work based on the players he has. Not interested in anyone without PL success.

Give me a fucking break. United bossed the match from start to finish. We were by far the more dangerous team away from home with 3 at AFCON and 3 others just back from injury. Sign a DM, get Ole in, and we’re a lock for top 5.

I would. His pressing is elite. But I’m American, and I’m biased.

Can we get footballers to stop praying for a minute so God might have time to do something about the kids being blown to bits in Gaza?

It’s time.

Saw him at home vs Telstar in the first match of the season. He made a near disastrous error in the first 10 minutes, iirc. He looks promising, but let the kid grow physically and mentally for a couple seasons before plucking him from the comfort of Ajax.

If we get £39m for Hojlund, Antony goes Betis, and Sancho to Roma for £20m (which looks possible again), then United are under no pressure at all to sell Garna at a discount. Especially since he’s on a relatively small wage. If Chelsea want him, they’ll need to pay up.

If Amorim’s system can work in the PL, it will require 2 badass CM’s. We currently have 0. I love that Bruno stayed, but as an 8, he’s a square peg. I think we should have sold him and spent the money on 2 CM’s that fit the system.
August 25, 2025 at 2:49 PM
Yeah, he thinks a big club is going to pay him his massive wages next summer when he leaves on a free 🤡.
August 18, 2025 at 2:10 PM
Calm down.
August 14, 2025 at 11:54 PM
He’s got to find matches somewhere if he wants to stay in Brazil’s WC plans. Surely he goes. Would be massive to clear his wages

What he’s done with Real Oviedo is a fantastic story and it shows real class.
August 13, 2025 at 3:56 AM
I agree. It’s not ideal. On the bright side, he’s one of the best prospects in Europe, and I trust Vivell. Sesko is a big bastard with good feet who hits the ball hard, and last season Leipzig asked him to come deep for the ball in the build up. I really think he’ll suit Amorim’s system well.
August 5, 2025 at 12:27 PM
If we can ship Sancho, Garnacho, Antony, then we should still be able to bring in Sesko and a midfielder. A lot will depend on how we structure the Sesko purchase. Same as Cunha and Mbeumo, we need Leipzig to agree to installments.

I’ve watched the Everton replay a couple times. I honestly do think our priorities should be 1)CM (Ugarte and Casemiro aren’t it), 2) RWB (Dalot has been awful this preseason, and Amad doesn’t look ready for the role), 3) ST. Maybe a cheap option up front is the answer? Vlahovic on loan?
August 5, 2025 at 2:28 AM
I prefer Watkins, too. But there’s absolutely no way we should be paying more than £40m for a 29yo, and there’s simply no way Villa sell him for that. If you’re going to spend, spend on a 22yo that’s a potential world beater. Vivell is a good judge of talent. I trust him.
