#Bluejays fans are sensing impending disaster after they blew a 5-run lead last night.

I don’t talk you off the ledge on today’s bonus episode of Deep Left Field, but I at least try to be realistic about what happened and what’s happening now. Plus, I open the mailbag!
No sleep til Yankees behind them for Blue Jays fans

Just put the Game 3 bonus episode of Deep Left Field to bed - you're gonna love it!

I go over the ugliness that was #Bluejays first loss of this post-season and open the mailbag! Lots of bullpen and Kevin Gausman talk!

Look for it Wednesday morning!

I genuinely do not understand how hockey and football teams matter in the slightest in this discussion. Honestly. Those are completely different games where things like momentum and emotion actually matter. In baseball you get your turn and they get theirs, no matter what.

That's not what you said, though. You said you've seen this movie before and it doesn't end well. Did you mean in 1985? Seriously? Or did you mean the Leafs?

I don't see any comparison to the 8-1 game in 2022 other than they blew a big lead. Extremely different games.

Sitting down to record tonight's post-game edition of Deep Left Field that you'll be able to hear in the morning.

Last call for #Bluejays email to [email protected] if you want to get on the show!

Will this help, in any way, them start to get people's orders right? Because when you go to White Castle, you know that you're getting White Castle, but that's all you know about what's going to end up in that bag.

Well, but they were (and still are) facing elimination after being blown out twice.

Davis has at least turned himself into an above-average outfielder, though. I'm not in a rush to take him out in the third inning with a lead. Santander is a whole other story.

It's very easy to predict doom and say you'd love to be wrong, because that way either you're right or you're happy.

I'll answer the question for you - the only time in #Bluejays history that they've lost a playoff series that they were one win away from was in 1985.
wilnerness.bsky.social
Yes. Not pitching to Judge worked very well for them in the first two games.
wilnerness.bsky.social
When have you seen this movie before? When is the last time that #Bluejays have been one win away from winning a playoff series and they didn't win that series?
wilnerness.bsky.social
And here’s how the scorecard looked at game’s end. #Bluejays
Filled-out scorecard for Blue Jays’ 9-6 loss to the Yankees in Game 3 of their ALDS.

Varland threw 20 pitches tonight, Fisher threw 13.
wilnerness.bsky.social
#Bluejays scored 29 runs in the first 19 innings of the series, then after Aaron Judge hit his game-tying homer in the bottom of the fourth, went 2-for-17 the rest of the way.

They'll have a chance to win the series tomorrow night.

[email protected] to get on the post-game show!

They have used up zero relievers.
wilnerness.bsky.social
But the bullpen looked really good the six games before that, no?
wilnerness.bsky.social
I know. I feel for you.
wilnerness.bsky.social
I don't want Myles Straw in the lineup against Cam Schlittler.
wilnerness.bsky.social
He actually seems like quite a wonderful guy.

If Game 5 is a coin flip, why isn't Game 4?

I'm not even talking about positive thinking, though!
