You think you know someone, that they will take some news badly but overall it'll be ok. Then things get extremely bad and you realise you never knew them at all.

Considering how long it's had to evolve, and how many functions it had to develop first, advanced reasoning is really just the brains side gig.

Evolution put in all this effort for facial expressions and voice intonation along with special parts of our brains to interpret those and yet we just absolutely had to go off and develop writing.

I've gotten pretty annoyed at the strawberry test for LLMs. It's not a fair test. It’s like showing someone the color teal and asking them how much green there is. Your eyes have green cones, why can't you tell us the percentage of green?

I think Bluesky is nice for the shorter ideas that I don't feel like writing full blogposts about, but now I find myself wanting a "medium" medium. Blogposts make me want to fully formulate my ideas, and many of them don't survive that process.

Having never been on twitter or anything similar I'm realising I definitely lack some sort of proof-reading muscle memory. Can't just "post first, make edits later"
