The gas engineer has been & he cut the pipe where it was cracked & put 2 new joints on it. This saved him having to replace the whole pipe, taking tiles off the wall etc.
I stayed in my house out of the way while he did the work as he seemed to know what he was doing.

Good afternoon everyone. We've had new batteries put in our thermostat now. The man couldn't get the cover off either. Ended up using a Stanley knife & scratched the wall with it on the left hand side.
At least it's fixed now & wasn't down to hoomans lack of strength at removing it.
