"Dozens of Democratic senators have [voted for] Trump’s Cabinet nominees when they should be opposing them at every turn, these frustrated activists argue, along with rejecting unanimous consent agreements, voting against cloture, and requesting quorum calls."

Activists want to see their opposition party do some actual opposing.

One of the games in the bundle, Misspent Youth, is in my top ten favorite RPGs. I love it so much, we played it on Tabletop. Here's a link to the first part of two.

For dinner, I made us a bunch of chili, and a skillet of jalapeno cornbread, with the last jalapenos of the season from my garden.

Anyway, an hour ago would have been a great time to remember to wear gloves when you cut jalapenos, or at least don't touch your eye, nose, or mouth when you're done.

I'm going to send messages to all the people I subscribe to at Substack, telling them why I'm cancelling. I encourage you to do the same.

Elon Musk is a Nazi. Full stop. Substack is supporting and endorsing a Nazi, days after that Nazi told the world he was proud to be a Nazi.

Decent people have got to leave Substack. Please. I'll follow you wherever you go, and I'm happy to give you my money wherever you land.

Four years ago, I was trying out a weekly release of audiobook-style narration, using short pieces from the public domain. One of them, shockingly relevant then and scarily relevant now, was Ur Fascism, written by Umberto Ecco.

It is, sadly, time to repost it.

By popular request, here is Umberto Ecco's essay UR-FASCISM, published in 1995. In this essay, he talks about living in Fascist Italy as a child, growing up under that system during the Second World

I just realized how tense I have felt since I woke up.

So this is your reminder to relax your shoulders, unclench your jaw, and take some deep breaths.

Take care of yourself. Put your own mask on before assisting another passenger.

We tried to warn the dipshits who voted for him, and they acted like we were crazy.

Well, it's all happening. And it has only been one week.

I will never forget and I will never forgive the people who put this tyrant back into the White House. Ever. They did this, and I will never forgive them.

None of this brings down prices, lowers taxes, raises wages, or helps improve quality of life.

It's been one week. Every morning I wake up and discover that he has taken something else away from all of us -- including the dipshits who voted for him -- that keeps us safe. Every morning he's attacked another vulnerable group of innocent Americans.

I leveled up my skills as an audiobook narrator while I was working on some books last year. Two of them have been announced, and I'm really excited to share them with you.

I made a pact with the squirrels last Spring. They stay out of my garden, and I give them snacks.

Maybe it's more of a protection racket, now that I think of it.

One small pumpkin was left at the end of the season, so I put it out for them, and set up a camera specifically to get a shot like this.
