If you truly belive that the people should overthrow the government for their own benefit, the major destabilizer in the region should be removed, only then would the material conditions improve where social issues actually become a real talking point.

The Talaban won on exactly that front, the population never believed that the way the western world is living is good for them. So once the US government pulled out they didn't attempt to even fight.

War, revolutions, and coups only result in more religious extremism. No matter what you do, if the people feels unsafe from an outside intervention they will always stay with their leaders. The devil you know is better the one you don't.
