My guess is that last 36% divide into avowed white christian nationalists who are broadly pleased, and people who feel, "nothing is real until it hurts me & mine personally."
Nothing will sway the 1st group. The 2nd, it will take big pain like the AI bubble bursting.

This doesn't sound like a terrible system. There are a couple of big catches, though.
People who have worked a lifetime under the old system don't have time to cut over.
US wages have struggled for decades, and there's no regulation to force them up or stop this from driving them down further.
