I'm really not trying to be argumentative, but I don't see why young men have exposure to the benefits of our societal growth and yet are choosing to push for regression in greater numbers than other groups

Again - young women are exposed to all of that too, and I'd argue the impact is more much toxic and dangerous for women.

Exactly - why? It is absolutely alarming but the solution isn't just to placate... What is driving this group and not others to the (ultra) right. They have challenges to be sure, but so do other groups who are not turning to hate.

As someone who is obviously passionate about the issue, do you have a view on what's driving it? Because I'm trying but the most likely cause to me seems to be that they don't have the same leg up that their fathers did at the same age. I'm sincerely interested in your view and happy to be wrong.

I'm trying to figure out what is 'happening' to them. Because from my perspective everything that is 'happening' to young men is also happening to young women, but only one group is running in large numbers to the right wing.

I'm asking what is driving the 'crisis'. All of the other groups you mentioned are at real risk, at least in the US currently, of having legal rights restricted. What is the issue(s) impacting young men?

I'm not aware of any similar restrictions being imposed on men, however there seems to be a movement to regress on women's rights.

Advancements in women's rights occurred when societal structures that limited their ability to get an education, have a career, manage their own finances, control their own bodies began to be lifted.

My point is that both genders are facing the same external challenges, so the 'disconnect' and 'crisis' in young men seems to be due to an internal factor they are applying on themselves. Angst over loss of expected privilege seems a reasonable explanation but I'm open to others if they exist.

What exactly is the oppression that an under 30yo man faces that an under 30yo woman doesn't face? My university age daughter faces the same rising rent, the same challenging job market? Why the language of oppression for young men?
