My essay does, however, dismiss this “message” because it’s hogwash. Nobody is telling men they are unwanted at home—quite the opposite—but reifying this “message” does make it easier to vilify single moms (and stereotypical nagging wives).

Extracting the phrase "gender-free" from its context to claim that I "propose a world where we scrap masculinity in exchange for...a 'gender-free' world" is like cherry-picking a negative film review because you need pull-quotes for the poster
