If the studio makes another city builder, I think they should cut back on the number of repetitive scenarios to accomplish in each stage.

Now that person got called out by someone else who even said that JRPGs are closer to DnD (RPG video game origin) than WRPGs are now.

I think most in that subreddit played JRPGs back in the 90s/early 2000s (like pre-2007) and felt that the genre stayed the same.

They had switched over to WRPGs exclusively and didn't bother checking in on what's going on with JRPGs. This caused the negative stereotypes being mentioned

Definitely.

Now, you don't have to like some of the design choices (i.e., level grinding or linear choice), but saying "they all look like an anime" or "not wanting to be in a high school" doesn't apply to every JRPG.
