Doctors and patients should make the decisions in their care, insurance should be there to help cover the cost… not tell us what we can’t do

When I tore my rotator cuff, I had to get an x ray then ultrasound then mri before anything could be done because that is the order insurance dictates, even though the doctor wouldn’t do anything without an mri… so just do that first!

Isn’t it funny how we need to ask insurance if we can have what the doctor recommends and not the other way around? The system is broken
