I love SPAs and the static web. It's why I focused on wisp being extremely pleasant to upload and manage that sort of content. But I do wonder if the next step would be to introduce serverful services.

wisp.place has support for Netlify style _redirect files docs here:

Most helpful would be a catch all to index.html if you have SPAs. Just create a _redirects in the root of the directory and have

/* /index.html 200

Example of a site in SPA mode here: tealfm-slice.wisp.place
hosting-service/example-_redirects at main · @nekomimi.pet/wisp.place-monorepo

elaborating on this you can keep your PDS on a pi at home while using the cli to serve copies of sites on a vps. If you get hit by the reddit hug of death, your vps may go down, but you still have your raspberry pi chugging along just fine. Many projects before this would serve directly off your pds
keeping serving separate and off the PDS is good because you can lessen load on your PDS that you use for everything else (like bsky posting) and keep it as a verifiable manifest while the actual cli doing the serving takes the brunt of it
November 13, 2025 at 2:52 AM
wisp-cli will soon be able to serve caches of your site from your PDS with real time updates from new deployments

got back in the mood of writing real code instead of fake js, wisp-cli will be way faster now as it checks if blobs have changed or not

im working on implementing something similar to Netlify's _redirect files, is there anything else that would be helpful? im also gonna introduce a lexicon to control behavior like this as well
